ASTM A213 SS 310S has a unique composition featuring 0.08% Carbon, 1.50% Silicon, 2.0% Manganese, 24.0-26.0% Chromium, 19.0-22.0% Nickel, with trace amounts of Sulfur (0.030%) and Phosphorous (0.045%). It offers a minimum tensile strength of 515 MPa, a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa, 40% elongation, and maximum hardness of 95 HR B or 217 HB. Equivalent standards include SS310S, UNS S31008, and WERKSTOFF NR. 1.4845. Chromium is pivotal in stainless steel for forming a passive film that enhances corrosion resistance, a property unmatched by any other element.
